Canarian Government Invests €74,000 in Improving Secondary Schools in Arrecife
In a significant move to enhance the educational infrastructure in the Canary Islands, the Department of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity, and Sports of the Canarian Government, led by Poli Suárez, has allocated €74,214.30 to improve two secondary schools in Arrecife, Lanzarote.
Enhancements at IES En Altavista
The IES En Altavista has been granted €39,403 to undertake several critical improvements. The primary focus is on upgrading the school's sanitation network, including the replacement of the general collector in the sanitary slab and the repair of the cornice. These measures aim to enhance the safety of the facility by preventing potential structural collapses and water leaks. Notably, these works have also resulted in the removal of an asbestos-containing fibrocement collector from the network, significantly improving the health and safety standards of the school.
Upgrades at IES César Manrique
At the IES César Manrique, an investment of €34,811.30 has been made to update the metal roof of the technology classroom and replace the asphalt roofing of the plastics classroom. The renovation includes repairing and constructing various sections of the gutter system, replacing the roof panels, and addressing structural elements affected by interior water leaks. These improvements are designed to enhance the overall salubrity of the school environment.
Commitment to Educational Infrastructure
These investments, coordinated by the General Directorate of Infrastructures and Equipment under Iván G. Carro, reaffirm the Department of Education's commitment to maintaining, improving, and updating educational facilities across the islands. The goal is to provide safe and comfortable learning environments, ensuring that students and staff have the best possible conditions for education.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to prioritize the well-being and educational experience of students in the Canary Islands, reflecting the government's dedication to education and community development.
