ARCOmadrid 2025: A Global Hub for Contemporary Art in Madrid
From March 5 to 9, 2025, Madrid will transform into the international capital of contemporary art as the 44th edition of ARCOmadrid takes place. This prestigious event, organized by IFEMA MADRID, promises to be a landmark in the global art scene.
Venue and Dates
ARCOmadrid 2025 will be held in halls 7 and 9 of the IFEMA MADRID exhibition centre. The first three days of the fair, from March 5 to 7, are reserved exclusively for professionals, while the general public will have access starting from Friday, March 7, at 15:00.
Global Participation
This year’s fair boasts an impressive lineup of 214 galleries from 36 countries. The General Programme features 178 national and international galleries, showcasing a diverse range of artworks including historical avant-garde, contemporary classics, and cutting-edge contemporary art. The selected artworks encompass various mediums such as paintings, sculptures, installations, photography, videos, new media, drawings, and prints.
Curated Programmes
One of the highlights of ARCOmadrid 2025 is the curated programme "Wametisé: Ideas for an Amazofuturism," curated by Denilson Baniwa and María Willis in collaboration with the Institute for Postnatural Studies. This programme brings together 15 galleries from 6 countries and explores new modes of creation that reflect hybrid existences between human, vegetal, physical, and metaphysical bodies.
Another notable programme is "Opening: New Galleries," which introduces 18 galleries from 13 countries, all with no more than 7 years of experience. This initiative aims to bring new artists and scenes to the forefront of the art world.
Additional Events and Forums
The fair will also host several forums and events, including the Artists Forum organized by MAV Women in the Visual Arts, featuring prominent figures such as Marina Vargas, Marta C. de la Dehesa, and Santiago Eraso Beloki. The ArtsLibris Speakers’ Corner Forum will present publications, artist’s books, and other publishing initiatives.
Professional Meetings, exclusive to professionals and by invitation only, will focus on topics such as "Meeting: An Institutional Dance" directed by Martí Manen and "After… Programming in the Real World." Additionally, there will be a Meeting of European and Latin American Museums led by Amanda de la Garza, supported by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) and AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation).
Institutional Collaboration and Sponsorship
ARCOmadrid 2025 enjoys significant institutional collaboration and sponsorship from various entities, including Fundación Banco Santander, Lexus, Ruinart, illy, Cervezas Alhambra, Iberia, El Corte Inglés, Frederic Malle, Radisson RED, Bodegas ENATE, and Leica.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the event can be purchased online at a price of 40 euros, with reduced entry fees of 20 euros for students. The fair promises to be an enriching experience, encouraging discovery, reflection, and artistic research beyond the commercial aspect of art.
