Spain Prepares for the Latest Winter Time Change in Recent Years
As the autumn season progresses, Spain is gearing up for its annual transition to winter time, a practice that has been a subject of debate across the European Union. This year, the change to winter time will occur on the night of Saturday, October 26, to Sunday, October 27, marking the latest such adjustment in recent years.
The Date and the Adjustment
The upcoming change will see clocks set back by one hour, from 3:00 AM to 2:00 AM, a routine that has been in place since the implementation of the European Parliament and Council Directive 2000/84/CE in 2001. This directive mandated the uniform practice of changing clocks twice a year across EU member states.
